It was a disappointing end for Murray at Queen's Club as he lost to Matteo Berrettini in straight sets.

The loss itself was expected as Berrettini posses a great game for grass courts with Murray simply not able to counter it very well. One positive for Murray is that he had chances but could not really convert them. After the match he gave an update on his status saying thins are not 100 % yet:

“Obviously [I’ll] try and get – there is still a slight niggle in the groin, and try to get rid of that discomfort between now and Wimbledon. It’s a slightly complex issue in that, you know, still not entirely sure what the problem is. Couple of things potentially."

Despite the loss Murray remained positive admitting that he needed to improved ut also underlining several positives about his play:

“Yeah, I mean, I think obviously I need to improve. I actually felt my movement was actually quite good for both of the matches And all of the numbers and stuff, well, certainly from the first match we got, you know, in terms of the speeds I was moving at on the court – we were happy with that as a team."

He also spoke about his tennis in general which he admitted is not where it needs to be saying it needs improving the most:

“I think I made some good moves on the court. My tennis today was not very good. Yeah, that’s the thing that I’ll need to improve the most. Rather than I think the actual movement around the court. I just didn’t play that well."

Murray finished it off by giving praise to Berrettini:

"Obviously against the top players you’re not going to get loads of opportunities on the grass, you know, especially when someone is serving like that. You need to be right on it. I wasn’t today.”
