"Still I have sometimes a little pain and I need to manage that. But I can play" - Coric on his shoulder

Borna Coric is back to playing tennis after battling a shoulder injury for a very long time and the Croatian admitted he still feels pain sometimes.

Coric battled a shoulder injury for a very long time and struggled for months after making his return. He made a huge breakthrough in Cincinnati beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final to lift his maiden ATP 1000 trophy.

It was a very important thing for Coric who was emotional after the win as he was close to quitting tennis several times during his rehab. Despite all of that, he admitted in a recent interview that he still feels pain sometimes:

“I do feel good. I can play tennis and do extra training, way more than I was before the surgery. Still, I have sometimes a little pain and I need to manage that. But I can play. A little bit of pain, sometimes I think that’s fine. I’m not very young anymore so I need to be ready to have some pain sometimes, If that’s what it takes, I’m fine with it.”

He won his first match in Tokyo by beating Kokkinakis in straight sets and faces Brandon Nakashima next. On Tokyo, Coric briefly said:

“The love for tennis here (in Tokyo) is a thing to experience."
