Elina Svitolina will be making her official return to tennis at the
Charleston Open but she got a pretty tough draw for her return to Tour following pregnancy.
Elina Svitolina has been out of action for a while as she was pregnant for much of last year giving birth to a daughter at the end of it. She's been working on a return since then and will make her official one next week in Charleston. It will be her first event in over a year and the Ukrainian is excited to be back on Tour following her absence.
It won't be an easy return as she'll play Kazakh Yulia Putintseva in the first round of the event. It's an interesting matchup for her because Putintseva is Russian-born though she doesn't represent the country officially. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds especially after her long absence from the tour.
