Taylor Fritz took on compatriot Emilio Nava at the
Miami Open and he proved too good for him beating him in two sets 6-4 6-1 to move on.
Fritz didn't defend his trophy in Indian Wells as he generally didn't play that event that well. He was okay and was winning matches but ultimately he was beaten rather easily which surprised many. This was a good way to get back to winning ways as he took down Nava who scored a huge win over Isner in the first round but couldn't do much here.
He held his own in the first set with some brave tennis hitting the ball rather well. He had 10 winners which was more than what Fritz had but ultimately the older American was able to get it done 6-4. He won it through experience as he picked his spots a bit better than Nava. The second set was a proper smashing as Fritz completely took over.
He had 8 winners and only 1 unforced error with Nava having only 3 winners this time around. He did post 8 unforced errors which was too much and he bowed out 1-6.
