Despite not playing in any of the three ATP tournaments held last week, American tennis star Taylor Fritz found himself reach a new career-high as he ascended the ATP Rankings table.
Fritz, who captured the Delray Beach Open title two weeks ago, climbed two spots to overtake legendary Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Russian Andrey Rublev on the ATP Rankings table to become the new World No.5.
The 25-year old is the first American man to be ranked inside the Top 5 since former World No.1 Andy Roddick in September 2009.
Coming off his fifth career title and a week of recuperation, the California native will hoe to keep his momentum going as he competes at the Aberto Mexicano Acapulco event this week. Seeded third, Fritz is scheduled to faced compatriot John Isner in the opening round.
