Stefanos Tsitsipas played a very good match against Nick Kyrgios defeating him in straight sets 6-3 6-4 and giving Europe the 5-1 lead over Team World.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios know each other well and today they played a very entertaining match. Tsitsipas was the heavy favourite heading into this one and the Greek proved as much with some smashing tennis. The match started well for Tsitsipas. On his serve, he was dominant while on return he had answers for Kyrgios from the start.

Eventually, that lead to break points and Tsitsipas was able to take a 4-1 lead. He almost made it a 5-1 lead but Kyrgios held on however there was not much to be done after that. The Greek ran away with the set winning it 6-3. It was a fabulous display from Tsitsipas who did not drop a single point on his first serve and only dropping two on his 2nd.

Kyrgios became much more aggressive in the 2nd set but once again it did not really pay off. In the first game, he was able to fend off a break point to hold serve and avoid disaster early. He continued to play decent after that but Tsitsipas was never far away from a chance. He was simply more disciplined and played with more consistency.

Midway through the 2nd set, he got a breakthrough taking a 4-2 lead. At 4-3 for Tsitsipas Kyrgios played some of the best tennis he played all today jumping out to a 40-0 lead with 3 consecutive break points. He failed to convert them and after that even had two more but once again he failed to use them. After that strong hold Tsitsipas cruised to a 6-4 2nd set win.
