Team France is looking for a big result at the 2021 ATP Cup according to doubles partners Mahut and Roger-Vasselin.
It won't be an easy task for Team France who was drawn into group C together with Italy and Austria but doubles partners Mahut and Roger-Vasselin believe they can do it. One big reason for it is Gael Monfils who is the most vibrant character on the tour. Mahut admitted to such by saying:
“When you have Gael on the team, you always feel the pressure. Believe me."
Though it was echoed in a joking manner, Monfils is entering the 2021 season hungry for success after a superb early start last year was cut short by the pandemic.
Motivation won't be lacking from the doubles partners as well with Roger-Vasselin sharing Mahut's view of a revenge tour:
“Last year we had bad results. We didn't win any matches in doubles. We are really excited to play again. We'll try, for sure, our best to win all matches we can and help the team to win games and to qualify for the semi-finals."
Aiding them will be the two best ranked French players right now in Monfils and Paire. Both are eager to show themselves in a good light with Monfils especially happy to play in front of fans again:
“Just expect to have positive vibes and energy on the stands, some screaming. "[It] will be definitely a big help, a big boost for us.”
