Greek superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas has been always proud of representing Greece so he is looking forward to his favourite event the ATP Cup.
The event which is set to start on Tuesday, February 2nd, will the first premier event in 2021 and Stefanos Tsitsipas is looking forward to it for different reasons. Speaking ahead of it he called it his favourite event explaining:
"This honestly is my favourite event. I feel that [we've been] given a very good opportunity... able to compete with all the boys that I've known for so long. It unites us, it gives us the opportunity to play for something more special. To feel proud when we're out on the court playing tennis.”
Greece has been drawn in Group B with Spain and Australia and it will be a very tough task for Greece to overcome those countries. Tsitsipas admitted as much explaining that playing De Minaur was especially tough:
“I always had big fights against him. He has improved a lot since recent years, so he's coming from a very good run that he had in Antalya a few weeks ago. He looks like he's playing well. I need to be prepared well for that battle. He's covering the court really well. His speed is something tremendous. He can run and get balls out of nowhere. That's what makes him very dangerous.”
Despite all of that the Greek is ready for the challenge and he is happy that they will have the support of the very prominent Greek community in Melbourne:
“People are going to be cheering our name, and being louder than any other nation, it's great. Greeks are very proud, and especially the Greeks of Australia. They are twice as proud as back home… There's an extra reason for me to go out and represent, play well. There's a lot of support that we're going to have this week. I'm very, very happy and glad that we have such a huge army backing us up.”

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make.
