Rafael Nadal can add another accolade to his name as the former World No.1 was honored with the title of Marquis by the king of his native Spain.
The Mallorcan enjoyed a distinguished career that spanned two decades, winning 22 Grand Slam titles. Nadal won an unattainable 14 titles at Roland Garros, setting numerous records of clay and leading Spain to numerous Davis Cup victories.

The 39-year old retired at last year's Davis Cup finals in front of his home crowd, leaving an indelible legacy in the world of tennis. Nadal was commemorated last month at Roland Garros with a permanent footprint on the Centre Court.
In addition to all his accolades and achievements, Nadal was handed the noble title of Marquis of Llevant de Mallorca, the island where he was born and currently resides. Furthermore, the title can be inherited by his descendants.
The former Olympic gold medalist was among six individuals honored as part of celebrations marking the monarch's 10th anniversary on the throne. Other given such titles included pop-rock singer Luz Casal and Paralympic swimmer Teresa Perales.
"They are a source of pride for Spain and a permanent reference point for values that should inspire our society," read a statement from the palace.
