Stan Wawrinka had a really good start at the Rome Open beating Ilya Ivashka in straight sets and he feels great about his tennis right now and excited about the future.
It was a really solid performance as he took an early lead and never let it go winning both sets rather comfortably. After the match, Wawrinka admitted that he's enjoying life on Tour right now as he's playing pretty good tennis overall and winning matches though he isn't challenging for trophies yet.
He said:
"I was ready for it. I am playing well. It was a good first match and I am really happy to get through again. I have been working hard to get to this level. This year I am playing much better, but I need to win more matches. That is what I am missing a bit, the confidence to win more matches. But in general the level is great."
Let's see how long he can keep it going.
