Sakkari's impressive victory over Coco Gauff by 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 has left fans in
awe, praising the Greek's journey to the Indian Wells final. Many took to
social media to express that this is arguably Sakkari's best performance, as
she squandered several match points in the second set but ultimately prevailed
in the third.
The former
world No. 3 will face Iga Swiatek in a rematch of the 2022 final when the
Polish player claimed the Indian Wells title two weeks before reaching the
world No. 1 ranking for the first time in her career.
Fans
reacted by praising Sakkari, who, despite not being particularly consistent
since last year, once again showcased her best tennis. Despite not being the
favorite against local favorite Gauff, she emerged victorious in one of the
tournament's most thrilling matches.

I'm a huge fan of Coco but Maria deserved this win. Isn't she great to watch when she's on form? I hope her coaching change pays off.
