John Isner is considered one of the most difficult players to play against on the ATP Tour, but the even big-serving American says he's in awe anytime he faces Roger Federer.
Isner has faced the Swiss legend ten times on the tour level, with the 20-time Grand champion leading 8-2. Although Federer has won their last three encounters, Isner stunned the Swiss in a Davis Cup match in 2012, before beating him again at the Paris Masters in 2015.
"Playing against Roger has been the coolest because when you see your name on the schedule you know you're going to be on the big court which will be absolutely packed," revealed Isner in a recent interview.
"It is also an incredible opportunity to go out there and try to be the greatest player of all time. I played him 12 times, and was able to beat him twice. The moment when you step on the court against Federer, it's just a little different,"
The pair last clashed at the 2019 Laver Cup, with Federer prevailing in straight sets.
