Dominic Thiem has decided that even the ATP Tour suspension won't stop him from winning trophies. After winning the Adria Tour, he triumphed also at the Austrian Pro Series. Then, he lost in the final of Thiem's 7 in Kitzbuhel, and a few days ago he triumphed also at the bett1 Aces on grasscourt.
After winning 2 trophies on the clay, and one on the grass, Thiem missed one more surface to complete his collection. He received this opportunity during the second bett1 Aces tournament. First, he defeated Tommy Haas to set up the final against Jannik Sinner.
The Austrian defeated Sinner also during the first tournament to move to the final. Now, he faced him in the final, however, the result did not change. World no. 3 proved his qualities against the young Italian.
During the whole match, Thiem didn't allow his opponent to have a single breakpoint. On the other hand, he had 6. 'Domi' converted one in the first and two in the second set to win the match 6-4, 6-2 and his 4th tournament during the ATP Tour suspension.
