Thiem into first semi-final of the year at Mauthausen Challenger

Dominic Thiem is into the first semi-final of his 2023 season after beating Croatian youngster Dino Prizmic 6-3 6-3 in the Mathausen Challenger.

Thiem has been playing a bit better lately which the close match against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Madrid proved. The Austrian wasn't able to find his form for much of his year but being back on clay saw him finally start winning more matches. That grew his confidence he's now playing at a decent level.

He didn't want to play in Rome but opted to go back to Austria and play in a local challenger on clay and so far it's been going well. He won all of his matches so far booking a semi-final today with a win over Prizmic 6-3 6-3. It's the first semi-final of his 2023 season but many fans are hoping that it's not the last.

Let' see if he can make his first final.
