Roger Federer will be calling time on his career this weekend in London and the ATP Media dug up an old Q and A session he did as an 18-year-old.
Roger Federer was 18 years old when he did a Q and A session with the ATP designed and giving fans a better insight into who he was. The Swiss player was not yet a grand slam champion and not many thought he would blossom into one of the best players. He did show potential early as he played in two ATP Finals that year but he lost both.
The Q and A features some amazing insight into a very young Federer pre-worldwide fame. He shared that his favourite athlete is Michael Jordan with Becker, Edberg and Sampras his favourite tennis players.
He also shared that he sometimes cries after defeats but he tries to forget them fast. He didn't have a favourite band or artist at the time but enjoyed video games like FIFA 2000 and Tekken with Good Will Hunting (1997) as his favourite film.
He also admitted to enjoying being this popular but hoped he would not get much more popular. Much to his disappointment, he did but it seems like he handled it really well. Check out the full Q and A below.
