Frances Tiafoe will have a new career-high ranking on Monday but that's not his goal as he's focused on winning.
Getting a taste of winning at the US Open left the American wanting more and that's his focus for now. Getting a new career high ranking is good for Tiafoe as it allows him to enter events easier making it easier for him to win those:
"It's cool. My ranking's going in the right direction. The work's finally paying off. To
be brutally honest, my ranking is cool and everything, but I just want
to win the biggest titles in the world. Wherever my ranking sits is
great, but I know what I'm capable of."
The American is battling compatriot Fritz in the Japan Open final and if he wins he'll push himself further up in the rankings which would be a good thing, especially for next year when that new ranking will allow him easier paths to trophies.
