Number one seed
Casper Ruud played another bad match to get beaten by
Jaume Munar 6-3 6-3 ending his Tokyo stay early.
The Norwegian player made the short trip from Seoul but it wasn't a very fruitful one. Ruud faced Jaume Munar, a very tricky player who doesn't play a very strong hard court tennis, but he's been improving over the years.
He does play a very annoying style getting many balls back and forcing you to really take points from him which can be annoying if you are misfiring. Ruud certainly had plenty of those issues in this one and he wasn't able to find a really good balance.
He played better in the second set but left plenty of chances on the table. The return was not as much of a problem as it was the serve as he gave Munar far too many chances. He struggled to finish off points and it was just a very bad match from Ruud as his form has been dipping ever since the US Open.
