Stefanos Tsitsipas was happy to see coaching in tennis legalized as he advocated for it a long time due to being the most penalized player for coaching penalties in recent memories.
His father Apostolos Tsitsipas never shuts up during a match and Tsitsipas was often penalized for that code violation. Due to that he often advocated for coaching to be allowed in the sport but he generally believes that it should be allowed as it's beneficial. It's not something that many players agree with but he's always been open about it and he's glad it's allowed now:
"Well, the coaching has always been there. Some coaches might have not been using it as much. In my case, it has always been part of how I do things when I'm on the court. I'm glad it's not penalized now."
He also added:
"That's how it should be. I see no reason to have a coach with you if they can't share some of their view and knowledge with you when you're competing. I feel like it's something very natural in our sport. For sure it should be used."
