Tsitsipas battles past Federer to reach final in London

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Roger Federer in the ATP Finals semifinal after more than an hour and a half 6-3 and 6-4.

After winning Next Gen ATP Finals last year, Tsitsipas is playing in top form at the ATP Finals this year. In the group stage, he defeated Medvedev and Zverev to reach the semifinals. On the other hand, Federer was successful against Berrettini and Djokovic.

The match started better for the Greek, when he broke Federer's first service game, despite the fact that Roger had a breakpoint on his service game. Then Federer had 5 more break points but did not convert any. Tsitsipas converted his 7th set point to win the first set 6-3.

In the second set, Federer struggled to convert break points again. He had 6 breakpoints in the second set but used only 1. Mainly these statistics caused, that he was not able to chase Tsitsipas' lead. Stefanos used his first match point and won the set 6-4. In the final, he will be facing the winner of the match between Thiem and Zverev.
