Stefanos Tsitsipas has been having a good year despite the circumstances and he will return to playing tennis ever since his Roland Garros semifinal loss.
He is hopeful the return to tennis will be a good one and he is hoping a good result is in store for him in Vienna. He said:
“I would like a title and play good tennis. I’m happy when I see myself playing good tennis."
While it has been a successful year for him there were stretches of really bad play and results. When asked about that he explained that he tried to add things to his game but the approach didn't last long:
“It was a period where I was trying and testing new things. I just happened to try these new things during the US Open swing and Rome. Then I went back to my old ways and I started feeling more comfortable and confident on the court after that.”
He also explained how much things changed for him since lifting the ATP Finals title last year:
“A lot of things have changed (since the ATP Finals). I think I’ve grown up and faced pain on and off the court. So there were a lot of lessons to be taken and I had a lot of matches since that time but not as many as I hoped to have due to COVID."
Stefanos is the 3rd seed in Vienna and he will do his best to win another trophy as he completely focused on this event. Despite the ATP Finals looming he said that he isn't thinking of that and he is only focused on this event.
