Former WTA number one Justine Henin spoke to Eurosport ahead of the
US Open and she thinks catching
Novak Djokovic's in the record books will be very hard.
Novak Djokovic is seemingly breaking tennis records every week and with the Serbian winning 3 grand slams so far this season it seems none of that will stop soon. The Serbian will have a chance to complete the calendar grand slam with a potential US Open victory which would be another sensational achievement.
Speaking to Eurosport former pro Justine Henin said:
“I think Novak Djokovic is the one who’s going to hold the records very quickly and I think it’s going to be very, very difficult to go after
them. A lot has happened in the last year."
For Henin, it was an incredible turnaround in 2021 especially after several heavy blows in 2020. Speaking on his 2021 season Henin said:
“He did something very, very strong at the Australian Open. Obviously, for me, it’s all about that match against Nadal at the French Open, where he came back from two sets down. You can feel for Novak Djokovic, everything is always a little bit complicated, but in the end, very regularly, he comes through.”
Henin summed up her thoughts by once again saying that the records Novak Djokovic set will be hard to go after:
"I think Novak Djokovic is going to be in the best position very soon and it might be impossible to go after.”
