Alexander Bublik was thrashed 6-1, 6-1 by Borna Coric in the first round of the Monte-Carlo Masters, but despite that humbling defeat he stole the headlines for a hilarious reason.
Ever the showman, Bublik decided mid match to give the ball kid his racquet mid match and was adamant that she had her moment in the spotlight.
Asking 'you want to play?', he stood back in her position and then ushered her forward as the crowd cheered. Coric stood on the other end never received as each of the serves headed into the net, but it made for a heartwarming moment for the crowd.
Bublik then received his racquet, shrugged his shoulders and carried on. Ever the tennis showman.
