(VIDEO) Andrey Rublev receives medical timeout after making himself bleed smashing his hand off racquet strings

Andrey Rublev is currently facing off against Grigor Dimitrov and he is looking good at the moment for a comeback sitting 6-1, 2-1 up after losing the first two sets. But his anger issues once again returned.

Rublev who has been well known in the past 12 months for taking his frustration out on himself mainly smashing his racquet off his knee to avoid violations used a different route.

The Russian sixth seed smashed his hand with his racquet strings making himself bleed in the process. In what is perhaps one of the most bizarre medical timeouts ever, he called one as he made himself bleed at 4-1.

Rublev has opened up about his mental health struggles in the past year and how his issues on court stem from that. Usually a fairly mild mannered person, a different beast awakens when he gets angry with himself.

So much so that he has been defaulted earlier this year for screaming in the face of a line judge and has damaged his knees in particular on a multitude of occasions. Another instance here and one that saw Rublev lose his temper once more.
