A routine practice session for
Novak Djokovic ahead of the
US Open turned out to be a source of humor, as the Serbian imitated the service mannerisms of
Nick Kyrgios, much to the Australian's delight.
Djokovic, who is known for imitating his fellow tennis professionals, impersonated tennis legends John McEnroe, Maria Sharapova and his coach Goran Ivanisevic, before deciding to copy Kyrgios. The former World No.1 proceeded to mimic the Aussie's body language and attitude, tugging on his t-shirt repeatedly.
Kyrgios amused by imitation
Furthermore, Djokovic copied Kyrgios' characteristic posture during his service games. His impersonation of the 2022 Wimbledon finalist was met with delight and applause from the packed crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Kyrgios himself seemed to enjoy Djokovic's imitations, as he took to social media to repost several clips of the video captured by fans.
"Hahahahahaha this is actually funny," he wrote in the caption of one of his Instagram stories.
