Fabio Fognini is currently playing at the Oeiras Challenger in Portugal, but nearly was out moments after he started in the country as he missed the head of the Portuguese Tennis Federation after a moment of frustration nearly turned ugly.
Fognini lost the first set against De Loore in Oeiras and threw a ball after missing a point for the set in anger and it skidded past the Federation President meaning he escaped likely disqualification by literally centimetres.
Currently he got a second set back and is now serving to go one away from the match. It is a lowly state for the 36-year-old who used to be World No.9 in 2019 and is heading towards the twilight of his career. Albeit still with some controversy as today showed.
