Stefanos Tsitsipas had his best week of tennis at the Monte-Carlo Masters where he cruised to his first ATP 1000 Masters title.
En route to the title, the Greek had many great moments on the court and off the court and in a video posted on the official ATP Tour YouTube channel those moments are compiled. The video is a bit under 4 minutes long and it starts off with Stefanos saying:
"It's a tradition that has been running in my family. My mother played here many years ago and she....she won the tournament."
She would not be the last Tsitsipas to win a trophy in Monte-Carlo as Stefanos would end up winning the event a couple of days later. The video also showcases some rallies he played against all the opponents he faced.
First off he defeated Aslan Karatsev in straight sets before literally smashing his way past Christian Garin in the next round. A semifinal berth was secured after Davidovich Fokina retired from the match and in the semifinal, it was time to face Djokovic-slayer Dan Evans.
No Problems for Tsitsipas who won in straight sets and moved to the final. In it he faced Nadal-slayer Andrey Rublev whom he bested in two sets becoming the 2nd Tsitsipas to lift a trophy in Monte-Carlo Masters.
