Daniil Medvedev had some harsh words for the umpire in his match as well as the general rulebook of tennis during his match against Cressy.
Medvedev had to fight very hard in order to battle past Maxime Cressy at the Australian Open and while he was able to do it, there was drama. Whenever Daniil Medvedev plays, you can expect some sort of interesting thing to happen. Whether it's a sensational tennis play, a rant, some complaining or other stuff.
This time around we saw a rant that will certainly be played over and over again as the Russian snapped at umpire Renaud Lichtenstein after he failed to penalize Maxime Cressy for a time violation. Medvedev ranted:
"I cannot freaking go pee and you're going to wait seven seconds, it hits zero and you don't say anything. Rules are for who? Who are the rules for?"
He turned to the supervisor yelling: "Who are the rules for? Who makes these rules?"
