Jannik Sinner recently took in a different kind of practice as he tried wheelchair tennis joining British professional wheelchair tennis player, Alfie Hewett for a practice at the 2024 Miami Open.
Sinner will face Tomas Machac this evening in an attempt to reach the semi-finals of the Miami Open with only one defeat still this year. He saw off Christopher O'Connell in his latest win 6-4, 6-3 and will now take on the Czech ace. Hewett on the otherhand is in Miami for the first wheelchair invitational.
Introduced by the Miami Open this year, it gives wheelchair players the chance to play outside of the Grand Slam tournaments with Shingo Kunieda, Gordon Reid among others also involved. Before facing O'Connell, he tried his hand at wheelchair tennis and as Djokovic showed at the Australian Open this year, it isn't as easy for a tennis player to adapt with only the racquet being the same.
Watch the video below to see how Sinner got on.
