VIDEO: Monfils and Rublev exchange words after Western & Southern Open match but make up in the end

Andrey Rublev defeated Gael Monfils at the Western & Southern Open but the players exchanged a few words early in the 2nd set.

It was a very good and entertaining match between Andrey Rublev and Gael Monfils. The Russian proved better in two tiebreaks with the 2nd set being especially thrilling. Monfils had plenty of chances in the 2nd set but failed to convert them ultimately resulting in a loss.

Early in the 2nd set, Monfils was not feeling too well and asked for a medical timeout. Monfils opted not to wait for the next changeover for the timeout initially but ultimately played one more game. He broke Rublev in that game prompting to Russian to protest in anger.

After the MTO got over Monfils apologized to Rublev and the two had a bit of discussion on the net ultimately making things up before continuing the match. At the end of it, they shared a friendly embrace.
