The former world number one was back to his humorous best during the interview outside the arena at the Queen’s ATP championship. The competition is underway, and players from all over the world are preparing for the third
Grand Slam of the year.
Wimbledon 2024 will be played from July 01st in
London, where players will battle to secure the ultimate prize. Murray, set to play his first-round encounter in the competition against Alexei Popyrin
on Tuesday, was back to his best in the interview outside the arena.
The interviewer asked Murray whom he wanted to be interviewed, and both agreed that the host would interview by impersonating the former Britain’s number one player.
Murray also pinpointed where the interviewer used a word he would not use while interviewing anyone. The video ended with laughter, which fans would love to see as well.
Murray is often regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of tennis in Great Britain. The 37-year-old has struggled with fitness concerns throughout his career, and because of this, in 2018, he announced his retirement from professional tennis after the Australian Open.
Interestingly, the Glasgow-born star returned to the court
after a short time and has continued to play at the highest level. In recent times, the former world number one hinted that he might be calling it quicks sometime this season.
In his most recent interview, Murray stated that retiring after the Paris Olympics and Wimbledon would be a ‘fitting end’, so it will not come as a surprise if he decides to retire soon.
Murray has won three Grand Slams in his career. His first
major title came in 2013 when he defeated Serbia’s legendary tennis star Novak
Djokovic in the final in straight sets with a score of 6–4, 7–5, 6–4.
