VIDEO: Nadal bloodies his nose in freak accident during his match against Fognini

Rafael Nadal accidentally hit himself in the nose with his racket while playing Fognini but he survived to move on.

The match featured a slow start by Nadal who was broken three times in the opening set 2-6. He fought back to win the second and cruised in the next two as well. The fourth set featured a freak accident at 3-0 for Nadal when his racquet hit the ground and bounced up to his nose.

He required medical treatment due to the bloodied nose and he admitted after the match that he thought he broke it because it hurt a lot:

“Little bit pain, honestly, but good. We don’t need to create a story. Was just a strong hit. At the beginning I thought I broke my nose because it was a shock at the beginning. It was very painful.”
