Novak Djokovic left the press conference at the 2024 United Cup utterly stunned as he started speaking fluent Chinese after a reporter initially tried teaching him to say Happy New Year.
Djokovic is known to speak over 10 languages and it seems Chinese can be added at least partly to the list as he left the press conference utterly flabbergasted. He spoke Chinese initially the day prior as he greeted Qinwen Zheng and Zhizhen Zhang and crashed their press conference.
But he was asked to say Happy New Year for his Chinese fans and when told how to say it, he said that and a lot more in return. Olga Danilovic in particular who has been his doubles partner throughout the week was left in amazement with her head in her hands.
Djokovic himself saw the reaction and couldn't stop laughing as he left the press conference with one of the best mic drops going and a show to never underestimate the skills of the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
