Chinese tennis star Zhang Zhizhen received unwanted attention after being hit in private parts by the ball during the Hamburg Open.
The 26-year-old was taking part in the quarterfinal of the competition against Germany’s Daniel Altmaier on Friday.
During that match, Zhizhen was hit in the private region on the backhand which left him in a lot of discomfort.
However, Zhizhen managed to get his attention back and eventually beat his opponent in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
That victory was short-lived as Zhizhen eventually suffered a defeat in the semifinal of the Hamburg Open to Serbia’s Laslo Djere on Saturday in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Despite that result, the Shanghai-born will be pretty satisfied with his performance and will be hoping that this outing will help him get in the groove ahead of the US Open.
As of now, Zhizhen does not have a great record in any of the Grand Slam events where his best outing is reaching the third round of the French Open earlier this year.
