Iga Swiatek will play in the semi-finals of the
Warsaw Open in her first of two matches on Saturday after taking down Linda Noskova in front of an adoring crowd on home soil.
Next up will be Yanina Wickmayer who saw off Heather Watson earlier today and will face Swiatek shortly. This after the World No.1 sealed it 6-1, 6-4.
The first set was very much peak Swiatek as it lasted only 33 minutes and only saw Noskova take a solitary game. The power and precision proved too much.
The second set opened with the Pole getting broken to go 0-2 down but Swiatek turned it into 2-2 and she got the chance to break once more at 4-4.
She broke for a 5-4 lead and closed it out from there. Luckily for her though, she won't play the final today and is pencilled in for Sunday.
But she will finally fulfill an ambition if she wins through to seal the Warsaw Open.
