During a doubles clash between
Maria Sakkari &
Stefanos Tsitsipas and
Matteo Berrettini & Katarina Zavatska, a wager was made and won.
Tsitsipas pledged to donate 10.000 dollars to the charity event if Maria Sakkari was able to hit an unreturnable serve against Berrettini. The Greek was convinced that Sakkari could do it and he would end up right when Berrettini returned the 2nd serve into the net.
The match umpire John McEnroe oversaw the situation and he saw no wrong in the situation. The first serve was stronger than the 2nd serve but it went wide. The 2nd serve went on Berrettini's backhand, a smart choice, and it proved fruitful.
To be fair, Berrettini did not put too much effort into it for obvious reasons and Tsitsipas celebrated audibly. Check it out below.
