Novak Djokovic enters
Wimbledon as the defending champion and he will kick off his campaign today as per tradition.
The Serbian will have a very tricky opponent in R1 of Wimbledon facing off against Jack Draper. The native Brit will enjoy the support of the crowd and his first serve might create trouble for Djokovic. Djokovic admitted he was unfamiliar with his game but he asked Sinner about it during their practice as Sinner lost to Draper in Queen's Club a few weeks ago.
Asked about that motivates him Djokovic said:
"Grand Slams are the biggest motivation I have right now. At this stage of my career, I want to try and make the most out of Grand Slams. I am trying to peak at the Majors."
Djokovic also spoke about his schedule that is structured around the majors with family time in between which he values immensely. The Serbian also spoke about his confidence saying:
"The level of confidence is pretty high after winning two majors this year. Roland Garros took a lot out of me physically and mentally and emotionally as well. It also granted me an incredible amount of confidence and energy that created a wave I am trying to ride."
