"𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙖, 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙩?" 😅 Laura Robson reacts to Dan Evan's frustrations in his match with Thanasi Kokkinakis 👀 @laurarobson5 | #RolandGarros
Dan Evans created a bit of drama as Eurosport analyst Laura Robson put it by arguing a foot fault call with the umpire leaving a water bottle smashed as a result of it.
Evans took on Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round of Roland Garros and the Australian proved better winning in straight sets. It wasn't a particularly strong match from Evans and he generally doesn't play that well on clay however he really didn't appreciate a foot fault called, especially since it wasn't called by the umpire closest to him.
Former player and Eurosport analyst Laura Robson was shown the video of Evans arguing with the umpire and she found it amusing. According to her, it did look like a foot fault but she thought Evans wasn't happy that an umpire far away from him called it. At the end of it all, Evans smashed a water bottle which Robson pointed out are reusable ones meant to be given back after the event.
She further said:
"I haven't seen this in the moment as it happened. It's not as bad as I thought. Not sure what that says about Dan but we've seen worse. Just a bit of drama why not"
