Australian tennis star
Nick Kyrgios had high praise for his compatriot Darren Cahill, who was honored with the ATP Coach of the Year for his work with rising Italian tennis phenom,
Jannik Sinner.
Cahill began working with Sinner in July 2022, pushing the Italian to a new career-high of World No.4. During that time, Sinner has won titles at the 2023 Open Sud de France, Canadian Open, and China Open. The Australian coach, alongside Simone Vagnozzi, were honored with the Coach of the Year Award for guiding Sinner to incredible new milestones, including his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon.
Kyrgios expresses admiration for Cahill's work with Sinner
Reacting to the news after it was announced, Kyrgios lavished his compatriot with praise. The former World No.13 acknowledged Cahill's mind for the game, highlighting how much he had helped transform Sinner in such a short period of time.
"Cahill is an incredible coach. What he has done with Sinner is amazing. Serve especially," wrote Kyrgios on Twitter.
