The ATP has come under fire for their ATP Awards winners especially in the Coach of the Year category which saw Jannik Sinner's duo of Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill claim it. But Novak Djokovic in particular was not very happy.
Djokovic believes that his coach Goran Ivanisevic who helped him in pursuit of three out of the four Grand Slam tournaments this season, Year End Finals and Year End No.1 among other accolades deserves it more than Vagnozzi and Cahill in a huge dig towards the ATP.

😯 Djokovic on IG, on the ATP ‘Coach of the Year’ Award: “Goran, I guess we need to win 4/4 slams in order for you to maybe (just maybe) be considered coach of the year. Winning Year-End #1, 3GS, WTF and making history of this sport is not enough, my dear coach” 🫣

Congratulations turns into savage retort

Djokovic posted saying congratulations to the trio for winning the awards (Vagnozzi, Cahill and Sinner) but tagged his coach in an iconic retort saying that he may need to win all four Slams next year to be considered the best. He went on to say that history in this case is seemingly not enough.
“Goran, I guess we need to win 4/4 slams in order for you to maybe (just maybe) be considered coach of the year," said Djokovic on Instagram
"Winning Year-End #1, 3GS, WTF and making history of this sport is not enough, my dear coach” Fans in response on the tweet above quipped mixed emotions with one saying that Goran didn't win it due to his coaching being 'based on suspicious drinks when Novak is losing'. While others took the side of Djokovic saying he isn't wrong, he should speak more often and that Ivanisevic should've won hands down.
Other people took the umbrage that Sinner's coaching team won it due to the vast improvements shown over the course of the year as opposed to Djokovic who wins and is the finished article on court despite his excellence throughout 2023.
