Although Australian tennis star
Nick Kyrgios may have a divisive personality, his game and persona could be good for tennis, according to Romanian WTA player Andreea Prisacariu.
The World No.322 was a recent guest on the Novak Weekly Podcast, where she stated she did not always agree with Kyrgios' opinions. However, she did admit she admired his authenticity, which separated him from other players.
Prisacariu believes Kyrgios' outbursts and opinions often garner interest
"A good example is Nick Kyrgios," said Prisacariu. "I don't agree with him all the time, but at the same time he's saying something that I didn't hear before, you know. It's not about me agreeing, you know, but it's about him being real. Letting him say the side of whatever he sees in this tennis world."
Marko Milenkovic, host of the podcast, agreed with the Romanian, adding Novak Djokovic as another player who was criticized unjustly due to his personality.
"I mean, Kyrgios is an authentic guy, Novak is an authentic guy," said Milenkovic. "But the tennis world, I don't want to say 'despise', them, but they really don't appreciate them enough."
