"Why you have to do it? - says Nadal as he backs Simone Biles and her decision

Biles, already a multi-medalist at the Olympics, withdrew midway through the competition citing mental health as a reason. Biles, widely recognised as one of the best gymnast of all time, received heavy criticism in the United States for the decision. Rafael Nadal backed her decision saying:

"If you don't feel ready, you have been working so hard during all your life to achieve your dream. She achieved amazing things, and I am sure she will be back. But if in this moment she doesn't feel ready, and why she has to do it?"

Biles also received a lot of support especially from other Athletes including Naomi Osaka who recently struggled with her own mental health that saw her miss competitions. When Osaka withdrew from Roland Garros Nadal said he respected her decision but as professional tennis players have an obligation to speak to the media.
