Casper Ruud recently highlighted the difference between the coverage he gets and some other players simply because he doesn't play as flashy as they do.
It's pretty fair to say that Casper Ruud has been largely overlooked so far in his career. He's a two-time grand slam finalist and the narrative that he lucked into both of those still persists. It's something that he noticed too, especially after he struggled with his form this year. More and more people started coming after him repeating the tired-out narratives:
"People don't write much about me. I think that's also because I don't have the most flashy game and most beautiful winners, forehand, backhand, serve. But in the end I'm winning quite a lot of matches. The ranking is 52 weeks, last year I won many matches."
Chris Evert reacted to his comments on social media backing him:
"You don’t need to be flashy, you get the job done, and that’s what counts… #winner."
