Alexander Zverev and
Diego Schwartzman booked spots in round 2 of the Roland Garros following strong displays on Sunday evening.
Diego Schwartzman continued his rampage on clay with another stunning performance this time on the red clay of the Roland Garros. His opponent was
Miomir Kecmanovic who is far from an easy out even on clay but the Serbian had no chance today. His hopes were quickly extinguished with demolition in the first set 6-0. His rampage continued in the 2nd set with another stunner but this time he allowed Kecmanovic one game.
The 3rd set was the best display from the Serbian but again it didn't matter much as Diego won that one with ease as well 6-3. All in all a stunning performance by the red hot Schwartzman.
Alexander Zverev is through to the next round as well but he played under different conditions than Schwartzman. His match was under the closed roof and his match ended the programme of day one. None of that swayed him from his goal and a solid performance allowed him to win straight sets. His serve proved key in this match that lasted around 2 hours as Zverev hit 10 aces en route to a 7-5 6-4 6-2 victory over
Dennis Novak.
