Alexander Zverev hasn't been playing very consistent tennis lately and it could cost him a lot of positions on the rankings because he is defending a good amount of points at Roland Garros.
Zverev has been trying to find his footing following his injury but it's not been going smoothly. He had played really good times but for the most part, it's been rather disappointing. He's certainly playing quite a bit worse compared to last year when he was considered a dark horse to potentially even win Roland Garros.
It's unlikely he goes as deep as he went last year and that could be very problematic. He's already been dropping points from last year and he's now out of the top 20 for the first time in six years. If his struggles continue and if he continues to exit early from events, he could very well find himself out of the top 100 and that's something to think about.
Becker urged him to step up recently because dropping out of the top 100 would set him back quite a bit and force him to play lower level events.
