Zverev won't play Davis Cup Finals: "I am a man of my word. This is not the real Davis Cup. The format should change."
Alexander Zverev has continued to reiterate his displeasure at the Davis Cup Finals format and that he won't be playing in the tournament until it changes.
Zverev previously stated that he will not play for Germany and ahead of the Erste Bank Open, he reiterated this.
This format has seen an 18-team event at the end of the season with 71% of ITF member federations voting in favour.
This has been backed by a group including footballer Gerard Pique with Germany among those to be against the format.
"I am a man of my word. This is not the real Davis Cup. The format should change," said Zverev.
