Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas showed that they are in a good form in Mexico when they both added another solid victory to move to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Abierto Mexicano Acapulco.
The 23-years-old German played his match first on Wednesday when he faced Laslo Djere after defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the first round. After Alexander Zverev's match, Stefanos Tsitsipas took on John Isner.
Zverev didn't start his match against Djere ideally. He lost his first two service games and was quickly down 1-3 in the first set. However, he managed to win 5 out of 6 games to win the first set 6-4.
In the second set, his struggles to open the set continued as he lost his first service game again. This time, he managed to add some more breaks again to win the second set 6-3 and march to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Abierto Mexicano Acapulco where he will meet Casper Ruud.
The first-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas didn't experience any problems against John Isner. The tall American hit only 4 aces during the match while Tsitsipas managed to hit 8 and quality serve was one of the factors that moved the Greek towards the victory.
He has won all of his points after first service in the first set and lost only 1 in the second what resulted in a quick 6-3, 6-2 victory in under an hour. In the quarterfinals, he will meet Felix Auger-Aliassime.
