The Austrian Open Kitzbühel is one of the most picturesque venues on the ATP Tour and is nestled in the Alps in the Tyrol region of Austria. The current title holder is Argentinian Sebastian Baez.
The event has been part of the ATP World Series, International Series Gold, ATP World Tour 250 series, and ATP Challenger Tour at different times in its history. The tournament has been held since 1894 on clay courts.
The tournament has been won by local resident Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany in 2015 and 2017. In 2022 Roberto Bautista Agut, who defeated Filip Misolic with a score of 6-2, 6-2, lifted his 11th ATP Tour title.
Fun fact: In 2019, Dominic Thiem ended the home crowd’s 26-year wait for a first Austrian champion since 1993 winner Thomas Muster.
