Mansour Bahrami continues to amaze tennis lovers with his
sense of humour during the
Wimbledon 2023.
The third Grand Slam of the year is marching towards its conclusion
in London as players get ready for one final push to claim the ultimate
glory.
During such tense moments, some laughter is always a good
thing and that is exactly what is provided by Bahrami.
The 67-year-old produced another such act in an invitational
mixed-category match on Thursday.
Bahrami did not have a great career at the highest level,
both in the singles, doubles and mixed categories.
In the singles category, the Arak-born’s best outing was reaching
the second round in the French Open in 1981 where he suffered a defeat to America’s
Mel Purcell with a score of 6-1, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
In the doubles category, Bahrami reached the final of the
French Open in 1989 where he along with Eric Winogradsky suffered a defeat to
America’s duo of Jim Grabb and Patrick McEnroe with a score of 6–4, 2–6, 6–4,
7–6.
