Alcaraz still set to play Hopman Cup despite Wimbledon win in shift back to clay

Despite winning Wimbledon, Carlos Alcaraz will not rest ahead of the upcoming US Open hard court swing and instead will return to a familiar surface this week.
Alcaraz will still play Hopman Cup action in France which will be played on clay and will partner Rebeka Masarova.
Originally, he was meant to partner Paula Badosa but the fellow Spaniard is out due to injury seemingly rushing back too quickly after the pre Roland Garros spine issue.
She withdrew from her second round match with Marta Kostyuk and then failed to play mixed doubles with Stefanos Tsitsipas with him hilariously saying 'thank god, I prefer to live'.
Albeit he is less likely to play as much due to the mixed doubles element, it still shows his commitment for the tournament.
For instance, Elina Svitolina was meant to play Palermo this week but decided against it after a run to the semi-finals of Wimbledon but Alcaraz is a rare example of a player who will continue instead of going on holiday or taking some time off. A novel approach.
