Murray came back after a long period without playing tennis in August 2019. Back then, he lost to Richard Gasquet and Tenny Sandgren in his first 2 appearances. However, Andy was able to get back to the competitive rhythm again and won the tournament in Antwerp.
Andy played one more match when he defeated Griekspoor in the Davis Cup and since that moment, he was recovering from the injury again. Now, a 3-time Grand Slam champion announced that he can come back already at the Miami Open. The second ATP 1000 event of the year features almost all of the players from TOP 10, except for Roger Federer who underwent surgery.
“In the short, short term I’m training to try and get ready for Miami,” Murray told Amazon Prime. “I’ve done so much rehab these past few months that in terms of my strength and everything, all the muscles around the hip are working well. It’s just I hadn’t played tennis.”
"I'd hit like twice since the Davis Cup for like 40 minutes in a three month period. I need some time to build up and feel good on the court again but that's kinda my plans just now unless I have a setback or something."
